2017 December – Snooooow!, Surprise Christmas Tree, Christmas Eve, Food Hangover

Snooooow!!!!

I love the snow.  Odd for a Spanish dog maybe. Still, magical.

Surprise Christmas Tree

We found a surprise Christmas Tree in the woods today.

It is miles from the car park and in the middle of nowhere.  This track  is really hidden and we’ve never, ever seen anyone else down here at all.

Mum is really delighted.

But then she would be, wouldn’t she  – someone else is clearly quite as mad as she is.

Christmas Eve

Given the drama last year on Christmas Eve I am staying with Mum tonight.  She doesn’t know yet.  I only take up half the bed.

Mum says the problem is that it is all of the bottom half.

I’m not moving.

Happy Crimble everyone!

Food Hangover

It is Boxing Day.  I have eaten way too much.  I can barely move.

I have a food hangover.

The other humans all seem to have a drink hangover.  I didn’t think water could do that to you.

We are supposed to be going out for a walk later but it seems quite unlikely that any of the humans will be sober enough to drive.  There was a big discussion about this and Mum is definitely in no fit state.  In fact she suggested she may have to start drinking again just to mitigate the worst effects.

I’m not sure it works like that but looking at her I rather suspect she is past caring if I’m honest.

I’m past caring too and I doubt I would be able to make it through a walk today.  I think I’ll just have a bit more of a snooze.

Maybe until the New Year.

That sounds like a plan.

Saffron’s recommendations this month:

Music:  As it’s the season of goodwill, I’m going for a completely random mix of stuff we really don’t hear often enough.  Or at least I don’t think we do. Remember these?

Bittersweet Symphony – The Verve

Ruby – Kaiser Chiefs

Take Me Out – Franz Ferdinand

Turning Japanese – The Vapors

Take on Me – A-Ha

Hooked on a Feeling – Blue Swede

I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight -Cutting Crew

Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Deep Blue Something

Wake up Boo – The Boo Radleys (oh yes, happy happy)

I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas

Reading (fiction):

Just So Stories (for little children) by Rudyard Kipling, published by Macmillan

Because it’s Crimble and because if you haven’t read, as a minimum, ‘How the Rhinoceros got his Skin’ or ‘The Elephant’s Child’ then you really, really should :)

Films:  It’s Christmas, so why not go for any of the Bond movies?    Or just for a Christmas quiz funsy moment, how many of the 27 movies (and year of release) can you name?  I’ll start you off with:

Casino Royale (2006) – which is just the best by the way…..although…. aaaaah…..Sean Connery’s reign as Bond was sublime.
