Actions Speak Louder than Words

Let’s face it, TALKING about chew sticks and chicken and walks all sounds fine and dandy.

But it’s the chew sticks, chicken and walks actually happening in real life, face to face that count.

Isn’t it?

Yes, you know it is.

Actions really do speak louder than words eh?

What’s the point otherwise?

Luckily for me, Mum is pretty good at manifesting stuff like this and not just banging on mindlessly about it.

‘Nough said

Here is a picture of me looking just gorgeous.

‘Nough said.

And here is a picture of me with a chew stick.    Told you Mum was ok with this kind of stuff.

I expect I was given this for being gorgeous.

‘Nough said

No point over complicating things.  Reckon there are quite a few situations where ‘nough said applies perfectly.

Don’t you agree?

Break that barrier

Mum is super excited because she has finally gone sub 10 mins on her rowing challenge.

And very nearly sub 20 mins for double the distance.

Go Mum.

I am there in spirit.

But I wouldn’t want to get that sweaty if I’m honest.

Swan Song

Here are some swans loitering with intent where Mum and her mad friends go swimming.

Fun Fact – the definition of ‘swan song’ is:   A final accomplishment or performance, one’s last work. For example, I’m resigning tomorrow; this project was my swan song . This term alludes to the old belief that swans normally are mute but burst into beautiful song moments before they die.

Oh….. that’s quite sad isn’t it?

Not so Common Land

And this appears to be the swan song for parking at Holywell……

You can kinda understand it given the views.  But hey, this place gets really crowded in the summer so where is everyone going to go?

Mum and her friends are plotting something I expect.

Hallowe’en

Oh Penny.

What have they done to you?

QXC

Very many congratulations to Tindy who has completed his Qualifying Cross Country – yay – go Tindy!

Nearly there now.

Well done.

Reading:

The Last Dance by Mark Billingham – the first new series in two decades from a multi-award-winning international author that introduces Detective Miller: a man who’s unique, unconventional, and criminally underestimated.

Maverick sleuth Declan Miller is back at work following the murder of his wife (and amateur ballroom dancing partner) Alex. Working with new partner and heavy metal enthusiast DS Sara Xiu, he is tasked with investigating the double killing of gangland family scion Adrian Cutler and IT consultant Barry Shepherd at the Sands Hotel. Initial evidence suggests a hired gun and a botched job. The search for the hitman begins and Miller begins to reconnect with his old network—his ballroom dancing friends, homeless informant Finn, and even the ghost of his wife who keeps showing up in his kitchen. The fact Alex had been investigating the Cutler family prior to her death complicates things, and as Miller gets closer to the truth, he realizes the danger is walking right up to his doorstep…

Film:

Venom – The Last Dance

Mum adores Venom.  She has even set her Sat Nav to the Eddie and Venom voices.

Help me.

Or her.

Either is fine.

And very necessary.

Just saying……….
