The story of this website began as a sketchy idea when I was taking my human (Mum) out for her daily walk. This is one of the few times during the day when I have space to think because she is generally preoccupied with staying upright over rough ground (let’s be honest, a leg at each corner is a far better design).

I’ll let you into a secret. I feel I’ve been quite lucky because the effort I’ve made in connecting with my human seems to have paid off. So far anyway. I know this isn’t the case for all animals – dogs, cats or any other creatures. So I wanted to share my story with you and give you hope for a nice future. And if you haven’t already met the right human for you to adopt, then I truly hope you will soon. Paws crossed.

Since I chose and adopted Mum I have been kept extremely busy. I’ve barely had a chance for a holiday I’ll have you know. Of course, I love Mum to bits (now). And her family. Even if all of them are a bit odd in their own individual ways. It took me quite a while to get used to them because I am a rescue doggo and I’ve experienced what is known as ‘a bit of a difficult start in life’ (see diary posts April 2016, May 2016 and June 2017).

Anyway, this website has been written as proof that it is possible to train a human being to be (relatively) consistent and reliable. Some of the time anyway. Slightly to my own astonishment, I’ve found that with a bit of kindness, a lot of patience and a whole heap of persistence you can (mostly) get humans into reasonable shape.

It takes a while. In my experience, humans can be quite slow learners.

As I don’t have opposable thumbs, I have also asked a creative and IT professional human (Ryan from www.dogandpigdesign.co.uk – of course!) to help me with this website. Mum is generally hopeless at that sort of thing.

As well as sharing my story, I‘d also love to hear all about marvellous you and how you’ve rescued your chosen human(s). Feel free to add your story here. I look forward to reading!
