2020 August – Great Minds, Sun Bear, More Bees, Training Mum, Grumbly
Great Minds
It is super, super hot.
This is a picture of me in the coolest part of my house.
And this is a picture of Kobe in the coolest part of his house.
Great minds think alike.
Sun Bear
It is marginally cooler today, so this is a picture of me enjoying the sunshine.
It is really too hot though.
Too hot to actually move.
But I will have to move, otherwise I’ll overheat.
Just one more minute eh?
More bees
Told you Mum was obsessed with bees.
Training Mum
This is a picture of where I would be, ordinarily.
But I’m not.
This is because Mum has gone off for work again and left me in charge of offspring #4. When Mum goes away I usually spend the day on her bed and mess it all up and occasionally get mud all over it.
I do this on purpose. It’s part of my training programme for Mum.
Eventually she’ll get the message and never, ever leave me again.
But she’s a slow learner and it’s taking forever.
Far longer than it should really.
I have finished my ‘Mum Training’ for today, so now I’m having a snuggle with the offspring.
Grumbly
This is a picture of me taking Mum out.
She’s quite hot and tired and a bit grumbly today. I am ignoring her because that sort of behaviour shouldn’t be encouraged.
It must be catching because actually, I’m quite hot and tired and a bit grumbly myself.
I only grumble at things that deserve grumbling at though. Things like other dogs or cyclists or birds or cars or the postman. If I’m honest I have been exceptionally grumbly about all of these things today.
But Mum started it.
Mum mostly just grumbles at stuff on her computer, which is completely and utterly pointless in my opinion.
And I’m rarely wrong about things like this…..
And I’m sure I’ve mentioned the delete button before….
Mum just needs to find a bit of courage if you ask me.
And just for funsy…….
Saffron’s recommendations this month:
Music: Robert Palmer – did his own thing, a sort of soul, rock, pop combo with a bit of reggae thrown in for good measure every now and then. Some great tracks. Died way too young at 54 in 2003 from a heart attack.

Reading: In this heat we probably all need a calm voice of reason. Try a bit of Seneca. On the Shortness of Life or Life is Long if you Know How to Live it, published by Penguin. A bit of timeless wisdom if you’re up for it.
Films: We’re going for an 80’s cult classic this month – The Blues Brothers starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. Haven’t seen this yet? Well you really should. Based in Chicago with a slightly mad plot to raise money to save the orphanage they grew up in. At the time it held the record for most cars destroyed during filming. Amazing sound track. A sequel was released in ’98 which tanked. Maybe just stick with the original….
