Walkies

Mum’s friend, another Sarah P (surely there can’t be two of them?!) has decided to take Mum for a walk.   The Penrith to Carlisle bit along the Eden valley.

Here are some of the places they went.

Very tranquil and very lucky with the weather.

Beauts.

Mum said it was just brilliant.

Of course I wasn’t invited and if you look closely at one of the pictures there is a large field with a lot of what look suspiciously like sheep in it.   I am pretty sure I would have loved to make friends with the sheep.

Mum doesn’t think the sheep would have felt the same but hey, we will never know now will we?

As usual, Mum is so selfish.

Doorbell

Mum hasn’t bothered getting a doorbell since she moved here in 2019.  This is because she has me.

Her logic is that if she’s out it doesn’t matter and if she’s in, then I will be too.   Mum knows I will alert her by making the loudest noise ever known in the history of dog noises.

To be fair, this is one of the rare occasions where Mum is actually correct.

The decibels are awesome.

Sometimes, I surprise myself.

If there is anyone new in the room, it usually makes them jump and occasionally spill their tea.

No problem chaps, just doing my job.

No, no, no – it’s an absolute pleasure.

Just Gorgeous

Here are pictures of Kobe, Penny and moi looking ab fab as usual.

So there.

Personally, I don’t believe I have enough cushions to make me truly comfortable but sometimes a dog just has to make do.

It’s a tough life for all three of us in so many ways.

Winter Garden

This is the Winter Garden at Anglesey Abbey which is just beautiful in the …er…winter.

Nothing better than a cuppa and a cheeky slice of cake afterwards either!

Sunset swims

Have been really lucky with the weather but cripes, it is still mega cold!

Mum is super smug that she is managing to keep swimming all year round.  She is still kidding herself that it is good for her white blood cell count.  And good for her overall.

Well, even though you wouldn’t catch me doing it, here’s some info about the group she’s part of.

The Bluetits provide an inclusive, free to join social swim community. Even if you’ve never tried it before you can come along and enjoy the benefits of cold water swimming and community

You don’t have to be able to swim any distance, or have done it before, a lot of Bluetits just have a dip and a natter.

We now have over 150 groups worldwide run entirely by a network of almost 300 volunteers. Thousands of people now get in the water every week because of the Bluetits.

The Bluetits is a CIC (Community Interest Company), a business for good, we raise money through some of our activities to pay for the costs of supporting a large growing community.

Spanner in the works

Mum was helping tidy up some stuff at Shuttleworth and came across this.

Proper.

Right?

Film /TV:

The Brutalist

Fictional but inspired by real people, places and events. Here is the review from Rotten Tomatoes:

It is, quite easily, one of the best and greatest films of the 21st century. At least during its first half, which is brilliant and flawless in every aspect. This is a film adorned in truth – truth about art, humanity and society.

The film runs for a little over three and a half hours and has a ‘half time’ break built in. Mum said the time flew past.
