2024 November – Cheesy Chips, Power Trio, Schnoz, Don’t be Fooled, Roses, Night Swimming, Treats for Humans, Tupperware, Burghley

Cheesy Chips

Not really carnivore is it Madre?

Well, the cheese is, I suppose.

Scrumptious though.

Fireworks were good and free of charge courtesy of Cambs Council with voluntary donations to charity.  Go CCC.

Power Trio

Kobe, Penny and Bertie.

Fun Fact: A Power trio is made up of a domineering character (the Boss) and two henchmen or co-dragons. The two henchmen usually have different skills.

The Boss is usually convinced they’re master criminals.

What do you reckon?

Sound about right?

Schnoz

Here is a picture of wonderful me showing off my exceptional schnoz.

It even knows when it is dinner time.

Which is right now as it happens.

Can you tell?

I am hoping the human can tell.

I have found that humans can be a little slow on the uptake.

We will get there eventually.

If not, I will bark at the human in a little while.

OK I have got their attention – dinner is being prepared.

A well-deserved post dinner nap.

Don’t be fooled…..

A very necessary sign (according to the humans) since I have been getting two breakfasts regularly these days.

I expect I still will, because chances are they’ll forget to use the sign.

Paws crossed.

Roses

Isn’t nature astonishing?

November and the roses are still flowering.

Beauts.

Night Swimming

What more can I say.

This is a whole new level of madness.

This was afterwards too.

It was chilly and they are still smiling.

Treats for Humans

These are treats for humans.

I am not allowed any of it.

I don’t see why not.   It all looks perfectly edible to me.

I expect I will sulk for a while.

Tupperware

Mum took me to the vets today and they need a urine sample.

Wish Mum the best of British cos she has to catch it in the Tupperware.

First thing in the morning tomorrow.

Hahaha.

This will be fun.

Burghley House

Getting in the Christmas spirit at the fair.  There was a carousel and fake snow which was all fun!

Mum bought lots of food.

Some of it smelt very interesting indeed.

Pies and charcuterie.

I am wondering if there will be a taste test any time soon.

Can’t be dishing out stuff without a little taste test first can you?

I am a self-proclaimed expert tester of pies and charcuterie.

I expect I have a certificate somewhere.

Saffron’s recommendations this month:

Music:

As we are running with Greek legends (see below) thought I would see what Greek rock and pop stars there were out there.  Quite a few as it turns out.

  • Vangellis – of course (film scores for Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner) yessss.
  • Nana Mouskouri –- of course
  • Yanni – sold out world concerts, mostly instrumental
  • Firewind – a bit of metal
  • Elena Paprizou – Eurovision winner 2005
  • Rotting Christ – Whaaa…? More metal.
  • Gus G – Greek metal again. Sensing a trend here.

Reading:

Mythos by Stephen Fry and published by Penguin.

A vivid retelling of Greek myths, re-imagining their stories for the modern world.  Yep, good stuff.

Film / TV:

Kaos starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus on Netflix.

Just brilliant.

Just watch it.
