2023 March – New Toy, Face Off, Mother’s Day, Floods and Spoons, Big Skies, Abandoned, A View from the Top

New Toy

This is a picture of gorgeous me with my new toy.  It is a dinosaur.  I thought these had gone extinct very, very many years ago.

Clearly not because Pets at Home are still selling them.

Well, if I have anything to do with it, this one will be extinct pretty much any time now.

Face off

Gotta hand it to you Penny – reckon you’ve won this one!

…. although hang on a minute – woah there, hold your horses, here comes Kobe….

hahaha – you just chill out young man!

Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you Saffron – both eloquently (and accurately) put.

Flood and Spoons

This is the state of the river where Mum and the lovely swim gals get in on a Sunday.  It is pretty flooded at the moment.

And this Alfie on recce duties earlier in the week.

Tracey and Mum went on the actual Sunday.  Took a long hard look at it and then detoured to ‘Spoons for breakfast.

I am liking the look of Steak Club on a Tuesday.

Feel it would suit me quite nicely.

Don’t you?

Big Skies

This is fabulous me out on a long walk on a beautiful sunny day.  Lots of deep breaths chaps and re-charge those batteries.

Mnnnnnn…..

Can’t beat it.

Abandoned

Me silly, not the plane.

This is a picture of the tailplane camera on board at Gatwick.  Mum geeks out on this sort of stuff and had it on all the way through taxi and take-off.  Everyone else was into getting their film watching organised.

Oh, yes, how very dare she, by the way.

Abandon me that is.

Again.

Offspring #2 is here and I am going to give her a hard time because I am fed up of being abandoned.

This is a picture of me giving offspring #2 a hard time.

I am giving it everything I’ve got, as you can tell.

This is where Mum and offspring #3 and #4 went.

Don’t waste your time feeling sorry for them.

It looks just terrible doesn’t it?

More terrible experiences for Mum and the offspring.

I hope they are having a really lovely time without me.

Obviously I don’t care one jot that they have ABANDONED me again.

Obviously..

Just sayin’

A view from the top

Woah – that is quite astonishing.

It is properly high up.

I don’t think I would like it too much.  Don’t tell Mum though, because that will just become her excuse for not taking me in the first place.

I want her to feel awful for ABANDONING me in case you hadn’t realised…..

Saffron’s recommendations this month:

Music:

Apparently (according to somewhere on the internet) these are the top 10 UK popular songs ever made.  Some great stuff in there – and do you agree?

1 Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen

2 Careless Whisper – George Michael

3 Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen

4 Imagine – John Lennon

5 Angels – Robbie Williams

6 Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol

7 Mr Blue Sky – ELO

8 Hey Jude – The Beatles

9 Life on Mars – David Bowie

10 In the Air Tonight – Phil Collins

Reading:

The Leviathan by Rosie Andrews and published by Raven Books. These are the opening sentences:

She is awake.  And I must remind myself of how it began.  The end of all things. It was a time of witches, it was a time of saints. A time when rabbits hunted foxes, when children came into the world without heads, and kings lost theirs on the scaffold. The world was turned upside down, or so some said. Weep, England, weep, the broadsheets cried, and the poets and philosophers, fearing for their own necks, delayed their poems and philosophies, or incarcerated them in Latin and impenetrable Greek, to be exhumed at a more enlightened date.

Ooooh…. why not give it a go if it sounds like your cup of tea….??

Film:

Mum watched Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels on the flight.

Need I say more – funny.

Obvs I didn’t watch it because I wasn’t on the flight because I had been ABANDONED.
