2022 December – Paul, Mando and the Christmas Dragon, Woods, Funkin, Boxing Day Walks, a Trio of Funsy, NYE walks

Paul

Yep, Paul is back.

You will remember Paul from last year.

I expect you have a Crimble Octopus by now don’t you?

No?

Er…… pourquoi pas?

Mando and The Christmas Dragon

Again, yep, more Crimble oddities.

Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian (well why not?) and a Christmas Dragon.  Every house should have a Christmas dragon in Mum’s (ineffably strange) opinion.   Goodness only knows why and there seems to be no clear explanation either.

I’m staying out of the debate, mostly because it’s quite pointless to discourage Mum while she is enthusiastic about these things – she can get quite carried away sometimes you know.

I just let her wander off in her own little world.

She seems quite happy there.

I try to stay in my own happy little world with my tennis balls and treats.

You can see me succeeding in this endeavour in the picture below.

Woods

This is a picture of me striding out in the woods on a pre Crimble walk.

I am starting to feel my age a little these days if I’m honest.  Apparently I do get a bit ploddy towards the end of a walk and I don’t go as far as I used to.

Still, if there was something worth chasing I reckon I could probably work up a bit of a pace if I put my mind to it.

Don’t you?

Funkin

This is how Mum and offspring plus other half’s, are going to spend early Christmas.

I reckon they might need a few more supplies.

There is a turkey on the horizon (well, in the garage defrosting) so things are looking up a little.   Ben seems to be in charge of stuff so I am cautiously optimistic.

Boxing Day Walks

S’lovely out here today.

We had to go a little further afield because, as I am sure you realise, the entire world likes to go for a walk on Boxing Day.   Especially in this sort of weather.

Also, as you no doubt realise by now, I am not keen on other dogs disturbing my nice and splendidly isolated walks.   There were no disturbances on this walk.

Which was a good thing for me.

It was also probably a good thing for anyone else.

A trio of funsy

Here’s a picture of three bundles of fun at New Year.

Welcome to Penny who has been given the utterly dubious task of attempting to supervise offspring #3.  Kobe (all snuggled up) has clearly given up totally on offspring #2 and other half.

I am focusing on my teddy because Mum is so far beyond redemption it isn’t worth even contemplating.

We are all fine though, thank you for asking.

New Years Eve walk

This is a picture of me waiting for Mum to take a picture of me.

It is sunrise on NYE and we’re getting out early to avoid the crowds.

Hoping all of you had a fab 2022 and see you all on the other side!!

Reading:

The Precipice by Noam Chomsky, published by Penguin in 2021.  A series of interviews with Noam on neoliberalism, the pandemic and the urgent need for social change, plus the catastrophic nature of authoritarian policies on people.   Including the dynamics of a brutal class warfare launched by the masters of capital to maintain and even enhance the features of a dog-eat-dog society. Discussion on the problems of our world today as we stand in a period of monumental change, preparing for a more hopeful tomorrow.

‘We stand at a precipice and we must fight to pull the world back from it’.

Thought provoking.

Film

It’s a Wonderful Life

An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed.

Director: Frank Capra

Stars: James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell

Quite simply the best Christmas film ever (closely followed by Die Hard and Love Actually) …… and those are true facts.    Just sayin’.
