2022 November – Tennis Ball, Simply Gorgeous, Misty, What’s on, Go on Treat Yourself, A and E, Quality Street, Makeshift Lead, Washing Machine

Tennis ball

This is a picture of me.  I have found a tennis ball.

It isn’t mine.

But whoever it belonged to has left it behind.

I am planning on claiming it for my own.  Mum has said that is fine but if I do then I will have to take on the responsibility for carrying it home. Typical.  No support as usual.

I carried it all the way back to the car.  Then I put it down and got in the car.

I had proved my point.

Mic drop.

Simply Gorgeous

These are pictures of Kobe and me.

We are looking simply gorgeous.

Yes, we are.

Do you suppose we deserve some treats?

Yes, we do.

Misty

This is a picture of me in the misty woods.

It is feeling really autumnal but the leaves are staying stubbornly on the trees, for now.

Mum has been a bit more random taking me out at the moment – sometimes morning and sometimes afternoon.    It’s enough to drive a dog crazy.  Obviously I don’t actually go crazy, that is entirely beneath me.  I do give Mum a bit of a look every now and then though.  I also jumped all over her – just to remind her that I’m here, you understand.

I think she got the message.

We went out together shortly after that.

Honestly, sometimes it’s exhausting herding humans – I expect you know exactly what I mean.

What’s On

This is a picture of how Mum and her (lovely but quite bonkers) swim pals are considering spending their evenings.

So far they’ve tried quiz night.  Apparently it went OK.

They all seemed slightly surprised.

Go on, treat yourself

This is another idea for an evening out.

Again, apparently it went OK.

They seemed slightly less surprised this time. 😊

A and E

Offspring #3 has ended up in A and E on a drip.

Lots of serious painkillers etc required and weird tests etc but slowly getting there after 24 hours.  NHS care exemplary.

I expect I will be required to undertake some nursing duties once she is released.  I can barely cope with Mum but, as you know, I have broad shoulders, a can-do attitude and a sense of humour when required.

Wish me luck.

Quality Street

Now that the @A and E drama has died down, we have a QS drama.  The contents have changed this year and the price has gone up.

Shocking.

Being a doggo, I am unable to eat chocolate so, frankly, I don’t care.

Mum said she’s not that bothered either because she’s on a carnivore diet.   It will be interesting to see how that goes over Christmas won’t it?  Mum is known for liking the occasional mince pie, for starters.

Do you think I might like a mince pie?

It sounds like a good thing, although Mum has explained the mince isn’t meat, although confusingly it is called ‘mincemeat’.   I reckon she’s having me on so she can scoff them herself and not share.

We shall see about that then, won’t we?

I can be pretty persuasive when push comes to shove.

 Makeshift lead

This is a picture of me on a walk with a makeshift lead.

Mum forgot my proper long lead so she had to link 3 spare leads together.  Luckily these were in the boot of the car anyway.

I have no idea why she has so many spare leads.

Neither does she.

That kind of says it all, doesn’t it?

Washing Machine

Yup, it’s broken.

Mum had to force the door open using brute force and ignorance, which means that the door is broken now too.  There may well have been some choice words used.  It is/was full of water and won’t drain.   In fact it won’t do anything at all now.

There is a new one arriving this afternoon.

Saffron’s recommendations this month:

Music:

We’re going for a blast from the past with Squeeze, part of the new wave movement in the late 70’s and ongoing.  Some simply great tunes.  Founded by Glen Tilbrook (vocals), Chris Difford (guitar), Jools Holland (keyboards) and Paul Gunn (drums), the group have released 15 studio albums.  All Squeeze’s hits are written by Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford.

  • Cool for Cats
  • Up the Junction
  • Take me I’m Yours
  • Another Nail in my Heart
  • Tempted
  • Black Coffee in Bed

Reading:

The Manual of the Warrior of Light by Paulo Coelho, published by Harper Collins. Mum has the 2002 version of this astonishing book.  Translated from Portuguese, it is an invitation for each of us to live our dream, the embrace the uncertainty of life and to rise to meet our own unique destiny.

Each of us has a Warrior of Light within us and we can choose to embrace the miracle of being alive, one who can accept failure and whose quest leads us to become the person we want to be.   Beautifully , beautifully written.

Film

Black Panther – Wakanda Forever (Marvel) v Black Adam (DC).

Ok so where to begin…… let’s be honest, Mum is a Marvel fan anyway, so perhaps a bit of inbuilt bias here before we even  begin.   And yes BP wins over BA in terms of storyline and general credibility.  Or is that the bias kicking in?    BP – tributes to Chadwick Boseman (who tragically died of colon cancer and) who played lead character T’Challa  makes the film especially poignant.   BA – Acting and action sequences are great but the storyline just wasn’t quite right????  Mum’s viewpoint.

You may not agree – see what you think. 😊
