2021 August – Granada, El Baile Flamenco, Mum is Back, The Ultimate Wisdom of Children
Granada
Mum has gone to visit offspring #2 and boyfriend’s family in Spain.
This is Granada.
Mum always wanted to go there and now she has. I am very happy for her.
I’m from Spain and she hasn’t taken me with her.
Rude.
El Baile Flamenco
Fun Facts: an art form that encompases several folk type musical and dance styles mostly originating from Southern Spain. The dancing is based on lightning fast footwork with little body movement. Expressive, passionate and precise.
Mum is back
This is a picture of me forgiving Mum for going away and leaving me.
She is very lucky.
The Ultimate Wisdom of Children
So true.
Saffron’s recommendations this month:
Music: The Style Council – formed by Paul Weller (The Jam) and Mick Talbot (Dexys Midnight Runners). You’ll know these 80’s tracks I expect and if you don’t, well now’s your chance. Cool.
Shout to the Top!

Walls Come Tumbling down
My Ever Changing Moods
Have You Ever Had it Blue
Reading: The Night Manager by John Le Carre, published by Penguin. (adapted by the beeb into a 6 part series with Tom Hiddleston). Great espionage fiction, moral ambiguity and post Cold War venality.
Film: Magic Mike starring Channing Tatum and vaguely based on his life experiences. A bit of fun with an undercurrent of social commentary. The USA (very) glitzed up, commercialised version of The Full Monty – sort of… ;)
